Hey, I’m Charley B. — the brains, hands, and heart behind Bar de Abejas, a skincare brand that started with a children’s toy set, a sprinkle of curiosity, and a whole lotta love.

Born in Baton Rouge, Bar de Abejas was a spark that lit up during a time when I needed something beautiful — and I wanted to create that beauty for others too.

It all started with body scrubs and handmade soaps while I was working at Dollar General. Yep — that store. I’d slip samples to customers and use their honest feedback to shape my formulas. (Shoutout to my first test subjects!) Eventually, I ditched the scrubs and focused on soap — and let me tell you, those bars became something of a cult classic.

But life isn’t always lather, rinse, repeat.

Depression hit. The spark dimmed. I always told myself I’d only make soap when I was full of light and love. For a couple of years, I didn’t have it in me. I didn’t want to fake it. I didn’t want to create from a place that didn’t feel like me.

Then y’all came knocking. DMs. Emails. Side-eyes in public. You bullied me back into business — and honestly? I needed that. Thank you.

Now I’m back. Mentally well. Energized. Aligned. And most importantly — ready to feel the love and share the love.
